Mercury Wire partnered with a global inspection company facing repeated cable failures in harsh sewer and pipeline environments—exactly matching your page’s applications (pipeline/sewer inspection, harsh-use crawlers, CCTV video inspection). The challenges included cables breaking in abrasive ceramic/clay pipes, water exposure issues, and insufficient push distance past P-traps, which directly align with your key features like rugged core strength, durable jacketing, and flexible diameter options.
Withstand friction, pressure, and harsh environmental conditions to ensure long-term system integrity.
Enable trenchless technology with flexible cables that deliver precision and control in confined spaces.
Transmit clear, reliable HD or SD video in underground and challenging environments.
Rugged Core Strength – Reinforced construction for lasting durability and pushability.
Durable Jacketing – Protective materials resist abrasion, moisture, and chemicals.
Flexible Diameter Options – Custom diameters, stiffness, and configurations matched to your inspection system.
Video + Data Transmission – High-quality signal integrity for simultaneous video and data applications.
Push rod cables transmit force in both directions—essential for navigating long pipe runs and tight bends during inspections. Pull-only cables (like Bowden controls) work in tension only and can’t be pushed effectively. Mercury Wire specializes exclusively in high-performance push rod cables engineered for inspection reliability.
Not all cables are created equal, your project deserves more than an off-the-shelf solution. Whether you need high-performance cables for industrial automation, medical devices, or underwater applications, our custom-engineered designs ensure superior reliability, durability, and efficiency.
We work directly with your team to refine designs, improve performance, and support long-term innovation.
Rapid prototyping and streamlined production support your changing needs.
We don’t just meet requirements—we anticipate what’s next.
All push rod cables are designed and manufactured at our facility in Spencer, MA.
Mercury Wire cables feature custom-engineered rugged cores, abrasion-resistant jacketing, and tailored stiffness for superior pushability and durability in harsh inspection environments—unlike off-the-shelf options that fail under friction, moisture, or tight bends.
They’re built for pipeline & sewer inspections, no-dig pipe repairs, CCTV video inspections, and harsh-use crawlers—delivering high tensile strength and reliable HD/SD signal transmission in confined, wet, or abrasive conditions.
Reinforced construction resists abrasion, chemicals, and moisture while maintaining flexibility. Our case study shows them surviving ceramic/clay pipe friction where competitors broke.
Yes—diameters, stiffness levels, and configurations match your exact push rod specs. We collaborate from prototype to production for seamless integration.
Lean manufacturing and Kanban inventory deliver prototypes in 2 weeks and scalable production fast—faster than traditional suppliers, even during supply chain disruptions.
Absolutely. They ensure clear signal integrity for simultaneous HD/SD video and data in underground environments, eliminating interference common in standard cables.
Proudly made in the USA at our Spencer, MA facility since 1967, ensuring quality control and supply chain reliability
Push rod cables are engineered to transmit force in both directions so they can be pushed through long, tortuous paths while still handling pulling loads. Pull cables (often Bowden-style) only work in tension and rely on a separate return mechanism. Because our customers’ inspection systems demand strong push performance, we focus exclusively on custom-engineered push rod cables and do not manufacture pull-only control cables.
