In 2025, Mercury Wire saw one of its most active and meaningful years of community and team engagement. Across races, wellness initiatives, and local outreach, team members showed up with energy, commitment, and a shared sense of purpose. Throughout the year, employees came together to support healthy lifestyles, strengthen teamwork, and give back to causes that matter to our community.
Starting the Year Strong
The year kicked off with the Guinness Celtic 5K Run and Walk in Worcester. Team members proudly ran and walked as the Wire Chasers, setting the tone for the year by combining movement, camaraderie, and community involvement. Events like this remind us that staying connected outside of work helps build stronger teams inside of it.

Running With Purpose
Early summer brought the Tarentino Strong 5K in Auburn. This event honors Officer Ronald Tarentino Jr. and all who have served or continue to serve. Our team participated alongside the community to remember his legacy and support a cause rooted in service, connection, and respect. The energy and turnout reflected how powerful it can be when people come together around a shared purpose.

Supporting Important Causes
Midyear, Mercury Wire team members participated in the Festival of Giving Trees 5K Run and Walk in Sturbridge. Runners and walkers supported organizations including the Silent Spring Institute, the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition, and the UMass Memorial Health Cancer Center at Harrington Hospital. This event helped raise awareness and support for breast cancer research, treatment, and assistance for local patients and families.

Learning and Engagement at Mercury Wire
Also midyear, we had the opportunity to host students from the David Prouty PACE program at Mercury Wire. It was a great experience spending time together, answering thoughtful questions, and sharing insight into manufacturing and teamwork. We appreciated the curiosity and engagement from the students and were glad to welcome them into our space. They are welcome back anytime.

Moving Together as a Team
In August, the Community Engagement Team hosted the Mercury Walking Challenge, an internal wellness initiative that encouraged employees to form teams, stay active, and motivate one another throughout the month. Participation was strong across the company, with Walking Warriors finishing in first place, followed by Champions in second and Wire Warriors in third. More importantly, the challenge created momentum, connection, and friendly competition that carried throughout the summer.
Continuing to Give Back
Later in the year, Mercury Wire continued its commitment to service by supporting Abby’s House, an organization that provides shelter, housing, and support services for women and children in need. Supporting organizations like Abby’s House reflects our belief in showing up for the communities where we live and work.

November Food Drive Supporting Local Food Pantries
In November, Mercury Wire was proud to support the 5th Annual Food Drive benefiting local food pantries and families in need. Thanks to the generosity of the community, more than $4,500 was raised and over 50 bags and boxes of food were collected to help families enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday. We are grateful to everyone who donated, volunteered, and helped make the event a success. It was a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together to give back.

Looking Ahead
2025 was a meaningful year of movement, learning, and community connection at Mercury Wire. The level of participation across these initiatives reflects a shared commitment to wellness, teamwork, and making a positive impact beyond our walls. We are grateful for everyone who took part and look forward to carrying this momentum into the year ahead.
